A Semi Detailed Lesson Plan in
Educational Technology 2 (MSC 2-11)
  
I. Objectives:
At the end of today’s lesson the students are expected to:
      define software;
      differentiate the different types of software;
      identify the instructional software;
      compare the instructional software from traditional way of exhibiting educational activities; and
      explore selected instructional software.

II. Subject Matter:
      Topic: Understanding the Nature of Instructional Software
      References: www. slideshare.net
      Materials: laptop, projector, white board, and white board marker.

III. Procedure:
      Preliminary Activities:
      Greetings
      Checking the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom
      Opening prayer
      Checking of attendance
      Motivation:
The class will be divided into four (4) groups. Each group will be given pieces of letters. They will try to assemble the letters to form words. The first group that will post the correct arrangement of the picture will be the winner.
      Lesson Proper:
      Give the connection of the motivational activity to the topic that will be discussed.
      Introduce the topic but before proceeding to the discussion, ask the students view about the word “software”. Make them give some examples of it.
      Start the lesson by the use of an animated presentation.
      Discuss the different types of software and define the instructional software.
      Introduce the various kinds of instructional software and display an example of each.
      Ask the students awareness of those kinds of educational software.
      Site some advantages of the usage of instructional software

IV. Generalization:
                   To generalize everything, Instructional Software provides activities that expound new learning techniques that can help students in dealing with different school activities. This software tends to assist the learners in the process of acquiring information yet allowing them to explore the applications by themselves. Thus, learning became more fun and effective. Incorporated with many learning concepts, educational software leads to a better enhancement of student’s skills making them more aware about new hints in technology. However, it must be noted that, this software are tools for the learning process and should not be misinterpret as a replacement for teachers.

V. Application:
          Students will be exploring some of the given instructional software.

1-3.Enumerate the different types of software.
4-12. Give the different types of Instructional Software.
13-15. Give some advantages of the usage of Instructional Software.
Answers:
1-3. System, programming and application software
            4-12. Application, drill and practice, tutorials, simulation,  instructional games, problem   solving, multimedia, teacher utilities.
            13-15. the answers here depends on the perceptions of the students about the topic.
VII. Assignment:
          Look for instructional software and be ready to discuss it in the class.
